The SBH Project

A Massive-Scale Critical Mineral & Rare Earth Element Asset in Alberta

Critical Minerals Americas Inc. (CMAI) holds a 100% interest in the SBH Property, an advanced-stage exploration project representing a highly strategic accumulation of critical metals and rare earth elements.

Located in a tier-one mining jurisdiction, the property benefits from established infrastructure and straightforward accessibility:
  • Massive Footprint: The property consists of nine contiguous Alberta rock-hosted mineral permits totaling approximately 46,666 hectares (466.66 square kilometers).

  • The Region: Situated on the eastern slopes of the Birch Mountains in Northeastern Alberta, within the prolific Athabasca oil sands region.

  • Proximity: The project is located approximately 120 km North of Fort McMurray, a major city served by daily commercial flights from major hubs like Edmonton, Calgary, and Toronto.

  • Direct Access: The property is directly accessible via winter roads, helicopters, and fixed-wing aircraft, utilizing the Birch Mountain Airstrip located directly on the northeastern portion of the property.

Green Mining: Industrial Symbiotics in Action

The Inputs

Instead of generating new waste, CMAI’s planned bioleaching processes have identified significant environmentally beneficial opportunities to consume considerable hazardous wastes from adjacent oil sands operations.

Sulfur: Capacity for consuming all waste Sulfur from adjacent oilsands mining operations.

Greenhouse Gases: Capacity for consuming CO2.

Hazardous Byproducts: Capacity for consuming H2S (Hydrogen Sulfide).

The Process

Bioleaching Recovery: Metals recovery processes formulated from prior work drive this environmentally beneficial extraction.

Industrial Integration: Development of metal mining operations envisaged offer innovative and transformative opportunities serving as yet another link in the sustainability chain to net-zero. This involves symbiotic collaborations between metals mining and adjacent oilsands mining operations.

The Output

The process goes beyond zero-waste to become a net-producer of environmental and community benefits.

Clean Power: Capacity for creating excess hydro to be fed back into the local grid.

Emissions Reduction: Several CO2e (carbon dioxide equivalent) opportunities identified. * Shared Value: Operations offer economic benefit, and the benefit of surrounding communities.
